Covid-19 Dealing with the Devil

Every morning, you should be waking up to fresh aspirations and challenges, but here you are waking up to alarming news that could determine the fate of your future. Every night you go to bed hoping tomorrow to be a better day but to only find out the number of cases have escalated. Added to that are a million messages, of which most are fake bombarding the social media to only leave you confused than ever.

Escalating number of deaths and positive tested cases, scrambling businesses across the world, crashing stock market, suffering daily laborers, and people fighting over the most basic commodities, are all reminders of how big a curse the virus has cast on our world. The virus that holds no bias against any race, gender, or ethnicity, that doesn't discriminate against rich or poor. There are countless number of theories online as to how it originated but there is only one visible truth. We’re all in this together. There is no way to survive this unless it is eradicated globally.

Something like this undoubtedly gives us the right to whine about the house arrests, cancelled travel plans, forced distancing, or just the obvious negativity that seems to be everywhere. But what good can come of our constant complaints. We should rather see this as an opportunity to take as much responsibility as we can and prove our worth. Consciously making an effort to maintain a disciplined hygiene of ourselves and the surrounding, following a healthy diet, educating people around us about the dos and don’ts, not indulging ourselves in spreading fake news for publicity or entertainment. Most importantly, taking the issue seriously, bearing the consequences in mind. Social distancing, working from home, avoid panic buying regardless of the need, putting your travel commitments on hold, not ignoring or hiding the doubtful symptoms, these simple precautions can not only save ourselves, but also contribute a great amount to the world.

A global pandemic like this also makes us realize how fragile our lives are and nothing really matters other than our health and happiness. All the hurdles that once felt mountainous, now seems rather petty. A situation like this is a reminder for us to be thankful for all the good things in our lives and to make the most of our days. We should make an effort to maintain healthy relationships with everyone until we’re here and together. We all wish to live in an ideal world, but the world is what we make of it.
