New York is not just a city, it is a way of life. The city shapes into whatever shape you want it to take by allowing you be whoever you wish to be. The most prominent element that comes to mind when one thinks about New York City is the Statue of Liberty—a symbol that stands for ‘freedom’ which completely justifies the true essence of the city. People are free to share and express their thoughts and perspectives and practice any believes.
Grabbing the morning coffee and bagel from street carts, riding the subway and walking the busy streets filled with buildings that touch the sky kind of becomes one’s routine when living in the city. The city, busy as hell always keeps you moving but automatically brings you to a halt even if only for a second, as the dusk takes over, at the breath-taking view of the sparkling city by the bridge.
NYC consists of mainly five regions—Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx and Staten Island. The regions act as five facades of New York, each expressing its own traits, comprising of people with unique lifestyles. The popular destinations of the city include the Ellis Island, the gateway museum of the immigrants; Time Square, the heart of the city; Wall Street, where the time is always ticking and the money is always crunching; Central Park, a huge leisure spot for rest or adventure. The city is also an attraction for major sports and entertainment activities like the Baseball game, the late night shows like Saturday Night Live, etc. The city is also known for growing job opportunities and best educational institutions like Columbia University and NYU.
It gets a little annoying for the residents sometimes with the endless traffic, exhausting hours and busy lifestyle but there’s nothing better in the world than to look out the window at the incredible city and take pride in relishing the thought of where you belong.
