A long walk in the woods

I was walking on a path what seemed like would go on forever. It was a small trek area near Cider Mill in Detroit. It was a beautiful scenery with thick forest enriched with tall, green trees on one side and a flowing river on the other. I continued to trek for what felt like hours but didn’t feel a tad tired. The path was pretty uneven with huge rocks in the way and the branches and leaves sweeping all over me, making me feel a little adventurous.
My only companion on this adventurous trek was my DSLR. I didn’t feel a little bit of loneliness even though I was walking all by myself. I was so busy enjoying the most alluring landscape around me, that no other thought absolutely crossed my mind. There was cool breeze blowing across all the way filled with the scent of the forest and drops of moisture from the river.
This felt like a perfect place to think clearly. You never seem to get the right answer when you’re surrounded by a problem or a situation but you only get a clear understanding when you come far away from it and think from a distance. And standing in a place like that, there’s absolutely no space for any negative thoughts. At that point, there seemed to be a yes to every question, a way to every hurdle and a solution to every problem. I discovered a place in my mind where I could find a meaning to everything, where every puzzle fit in the right place. It made me feel so peaceful and refreshing.
After having trekked a few miles, it was time to go back. I was sad that the trek was over and the time had passed by so quickly, but I had captured every portion of it in my heart and my DSLR.
It is ironic that I felt lost as I walked deeper in the woods, but it also made me feel like I regained myself.
